Every day that car sits in the impound lot, it costs money. In Los Angeles, storage fees commonly run $50 to $80 per day — plus the initial tow charge and administrative fees. Two weeks: roughly $1,000. One month: often more than $2,000. Long enough, and the lot sells the vehicle at auction to recover its costs.
