How to Get a Mobile Notary Public to Come to Your Location Urgently in Los Angeles

urgent mobile notary Los Angeles

Urgent notary situations follow a pattern. Something happened suddenly — a hospitalization, a closing deadline, a flight tomorrow, a tow yard racking up daily fees — and a document needs a signature witnessed now.

Get a mobile notary to your Los Angeles location fast—here’s what to do.

What to Do Right Now

1. Call, don't fill out a form. Online booking is fine for scheduled appointments. For urgent requests, calling gets a real availability answer in minutes.

2. Lead with the urgency and the reason. "I need a POA signed at Cedars-Sinai today, my father is being sedated this evening" gets a fundamentally different response than "do you have availability?" Context lets a notary triage.

3. Have three things ready: document type, number of signers, exact location including access instructions.

4. Check the ID before you call. Expired identification is the single most common reason an urgent appointment fails. Check the date now, not when the notary arrives.

5. Print the document. Don't sign it. The notary must witness the signature. Pre-signed documents usually have to be re-executed.

Situations That Genuinely Can't Wait

Hospital and medical emergencies

The most time-critical category. A patient facing surgery, sedation, intubation, or declining cognition has a closing window in which they can legally sign.

A Power of Attorney or Advance Health Care Directive can only be signed by someone with legal mental capacity. Once that capacity is gone, the document can't be created — and the family's only remaining option is a court-ordered conservatorship, which routinely costs $5,000 to $15,000 and takes months.

When a doctor says "we're going to sedate him this evening," that's the deadline.

Real estate closing deadlines

Rate locks expire. Funding dates are fixed. A deed or loan document that misses its signing window can delay a closing by days or kill it entirely. Sellers and buyers both lose.

Impound and tow yard fees

Los Angeles storage fees commonly run $50 to $80 per day. A vehicle release letter delayed by three days costs roughly $200. Delayed long enough, the lot moves to sell the vehicle at lien sale.

International travel with a minor

A flight leaves Saturday. A minor travel consent form isn't notarized. Border agents can deny a child entry for missing documentation, and "we couldn't reach the other parent" is not an accepted explanation.

Court and filing deadlines

Affidavits, declarations, and sworn statements with filing deadlines that don't move.

Business and contract deadlines

Corporate resolutions, partnership agreements, and contracts with signature deadlines tied to a transaction.

What Makes an Urgent Appointment Go Wrong

Expired ID. Check it first.

Incomplete document. Blanks that affect legal meaning can't be notarized. Fill everything in; write "N/A" where a field doesn't apply.

Signers not present. Everyone who needs to sign has to be there, each with their own valid ID.

Missing witnesses. Wills, TOD deeds, and certain healthcare directives require adult witnesses who aren't beneficiaries.

Wrong facility expectations. Correctional facilities have their own approval procedures. Jail notarizations are rarely same-day regardless of urgency.

Capacity questions. If a hospitalized signer is heavily medicated or confused, a notary is legally required to decline. This isn't obstruction — it's the protection that makes notarization meaningful.

Frequently Asked Questions

How fast can you actually get here? Most same-day requests are confirmed within 30–60 minutes, with arrival in one to three hours depending on location and traffic.

Do you charge more for urgent or after-hours appointments? No. $95 flat regardless of day or time.

Can you come to a hospital tonight? Yes. Hospital and care facility visits are among our most common urgent appointments.

What if the signer is heavily medicated? A notary must decline if a signer appears unable to understand what they're signing or isn't acting voluntarily. Call and describe the situation — sometimes there's a window when the person is more alert.
